The Guild Rules
The Logical Cube: The Rules
Guild Rules
General Rules
1.1 - The Logical Cube is a raiding guild, first and foremost. Our aim is to conquer the latest raiding content, both indoor and outdoor.
1.2 - In order for The Logical Cube to function correctly, we require all members to have a full knowledge of the rules of the guild. Updates will be announced as and when they apply.
1.3 - Anyone bearing <The Logical Cube> guild tag is an ambassador for the guild, and it is his/her responsibility to refrain from offending both guild and non-guild members when dealing with or talking to them. Disobeying the rule might lead to guild kick.
1.4 - Anyone found to be tarnishing the reputation of the guild, using banned addons/cheats/programs or selling characters etc., will be removed from the guild.
1.5 - An Officer or Raid Leader's word is final, and should be treated as final.
1.6 - All members of TLC are highly encouraged to avoid excessive use of AOL language.
Guild
2.1 - Guild members should refrain from spamming the guild chat when possible. While [Large Furry Paw] is funny the first 3 times, it starts to become rather irritating. Members are to be considered adults and should act accordingly. Remember that this guild consists of many people of different nationalities and ages, therefore things which you don't find offensive might be so for others.
2.2 - Guild bank:
We encourage members to donate useful items they may not need to the guild bank. Tab #1 and #2 are set aside for this. Members can also loot two items a day from these tabs. Everything placed there is free game, but you are nevertheless discouraged from hoarding items. It is not in any way a replacement for proper farming of raid consumables.
2.3 - Characters:
As we are a raiding guild, a large number of alt characters dilute loot progression and harm our chances of defeating encounters. Alts or non-raiding members will not be allowed in raids, unless specific permission has been granted by the raid leader.
2.4 Alts
A member is allowed to have as many alts as they wish but if the alt is inactive for too
long it will be kicked and will need to be re-invited.
2.5 IRC
We do have a guild IRC channel. Details can be found in the appropriate forum thread.
2.6 Guild ranks
The following ranks will be used for now.
Guild Master
Officer
Popstar Officer
Veteran
Raider
Popstar Raider
Trial
Alt
Friend/Fag/Alt
Akon-Wanabee
2.7 General guidelines
Actions that we encourage:
* Respect other guild members
* Greeting fellow Guild-mates
* Participating in Guild-chat. The more we talk, the more we get to know each other!
* Respecting queues on quest monsters
* Helping guild members out when you have time to spare
Actions that we discourage:
* Continual help request from low level alts
* Gear and loot bragging
* Spamming Guild-chat
* Not sharing loot with the party, aka ninja-looting
* Stealing monsters from others, or ninja-pulling
* Badmouthing other players behind their backs
* Telling other players how they should play their class in a patronizing way
* Immature behavior in any way
Raiding
3.1 Voice communication
When raiding, all members must be on voice comms. Failure to do this will result in removal from raids. Repeated failure without having a strong reason, could lead to demotion.
Whining on comms will not be accepted as it disrupts raids. If you have a valid point to make, make it in a civilized manner, in whisper, towards an officer present in raid. Casual banter is encouraged, within reasonable limits, and not during boss fights.
Comms can be used at your leisure outside raid times.
3.2 Discipline
When raiding you should always follow your raid leader's directions. If you have suggestions of changes in strategy, you can discuss these in the raid chat between wipes, or with an officer. Unfounded whining however, is not accepted; if you don't have anything constructive to be said about the strategy in question, don't say it at all. There should also be no backseat raid-leading. Yelling and/or other inappropriate behavior in a raid can result in removal from said raid and removal of any earned dkp for that raid.
3.3 Attendance
There are 5 raid days a week in TLC and raid attendance is expected to be over 75%.
Persons below 75% raid attendance will have a month to fix that, failure to do so will result in the person being demoted. There may be exceptions to this; Warning officers in advance of a temporary drop in attendance via a forum post is encouraged, but this will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
3.4 - Class Channels
All guild members should be in their respective class channels at all times. Your class channel will be told to you upon joining.
For reference check the topic in Rant Channel.
3.5 Standby
It will not be possible to fit everyone into the raid group at all times. We aim to have a fair rotation for this but at certain bossfights some people will have priority due to the demands of the fight in question. If you are not invited to the raid then join our standby channel (tlcstandby) and you will receive full DKP/attendance for that raid. Attendance in the standby channel will be checked automatically and is not necessarily visually monitored by any officer. Standby outside this channel (offline, short afk or such) may be possible in some cases, but this is at the discretion of the officer in charge of tracking and must be green-lighted in advance. Complaints about this after the raid will be ignored in most cases.
What you do on standby is entirely up to you, it might be playing an alt, doing some battleground (obviously getting rid of pvp before you join the raid) or basically anything you fancy as long as you can get to the raid instance and be ready within 5 minutes, failure to show up when called for will result in attendance being set to zero for the raid. If you are on an alt (and obviously in the standby channel) you better make sure your officer note is helpful for the officer in question that's adding dkp. Any unknown alts will forfeit their dkp.
3.6 - Mandatory addons
A few addons are required to raid with us. An up-to-date list of these can be found in our raiding section on these forums. As of the writing of this, the list includes DBM/BigWigs, Ora2 and Omen.
3.7 Fun
While raiding is serious business it is also about having fun too. Bitching about wiping is a surefire way to annoy the raid leaders. Wipes happen, and occasionally comedy wipes too, if you can't deal with it, don't join.
3.8 Raid planner
All members are required to use the raid planner, and to the best of their ability keep it updated. Failure to do so will incur some dkp penalties.
3.9 Raid start
Raid members are expected to turn up to a raid at the rally point 15 minutes before the raid time. If you know you are going to be late due to work or whatever, make a note in the raid planner and log outside the raid instance to keep the inconvenience to a minimum.
3.10 Major errors
Penalties may be given for serious errors during raids, but the aim is to make raids as fun as possible so try not to push things too far and the raid leader wont be forced to take action they do not wish to.
3.11 Consumables
Raiders must turn up with ample supply of all beneficial consumables (this includes food) and reagents. Gold is a non-issue in WOTLK and any complaining by members about this is not accepted. Guild crafters can help create these for you. When the raid leader calls for flasks, all raiders must use one. This is not arguable. If you do not have one you should ask your class members if they can lend you one. In the cases where a flask is not beneficial (no mana problems, etc.) you should instead use elixirs. Everyone has a buff they can use, and they do make a difference.
3.12 - If you are to be offline for 2/3 weeks on end without notifying an Officer, you will be removed from the guild, forcefully. Bendo will enjoy doing it too!
3.13 - Raid schedule, in game time (GMT+1):
Wednesday 19.15-23.15
Thursday 19.15-23.15
Sunday 18.00-23.00
Monday 19.15-23.15
Tuesday 19.15-23.15
End times are approximates, raids can be somewhat longer or shorter but we aim to end raids at the given time.
Friday/Saturday are off days, but will frequently be used for raiding old content or 10mans. Attendance is of course entirely optional, but keep in mind that you are expected to have any upgrades that may come from these instances.
Invites start at 18:45. Barring special encounter requirements it will be first come first serve. Whines for latecomers will not be accepted.
3.14 Disconnects
If you are disconnected for more than 10 min you will be replaced.
If you are disconnected three times or more during a raid you will be replaced. We realize it probably isn't your fault, but that doesn't change the outcome.
3.15 AFK
AFK is irritating and disrespectful to every member of the raid, and should be kept to a minimum. If you need to go AFK for any reason you should contact the raid leaders so they know that you are not present. Toilet breaks should be planned so that they disrupt the raid as little as possible. If you are AFK for more than three times in a raid you will be replaced.
3.16 Enchants and Gems
Every raiding member is expected to have the very best enchants and gems available, failure to comply will mean that the offender is demoted until the matter has been resolved.
3.17 Raid leaders discretion
A raid leader may waive all of the above rules if he/she deems necessary. Complaints about this should be taken to Bendo or another officer after the raid. Whines during raids will be ignored, and will only serve to piss officers off further.
Loot Distribution
4.1 Loot distribution
Loot will be distributed exclusively based on dkp. Some exceptions to this are:
1) You have already received an item of the same or higher value. The only way you can aquire this item is through offspec rolling.
To clarify this bit: This is not limited to dkp value, it extends to items of the same practical value aswell. For example [Crystal Spire of Karabor] (Illidan mace) and [Archon's Gavel] (Eredar Twins mace) are considered to be equal.
2) Subpar attendance. Having less than 65% RA will mean you may get lower priority on loot. This is up to the current raidleader to decide on a case-by-case basis.
3) Standby Abuse: 35% will be standby cap, unless progression or encounters require abnormal setups or excessive learning. Abusing standby system could lead to forbidding your loot rights.
4) Different spec from your own. The relative spec of an item should mostly be common sense, but it is ultimately up to the distributing officer to decide.
5) Failure to sign up is bad and will not go unpunished. Failure to properly use the raid planner will have offenders get lower loot priority in addition to dkp penalties.
The order of distribution is Raider ? Trial ? Offspec. In the case that an item is completely discarded it should be promptly disenchanted and the end result put in the guildbank.
Please note that it is NEVER okay to loot until it has been confirmed by the distributing officer.
4.2 - DKP Calculation:
Our dkp system is based on forward-flowing zero-sum. This means you are only ever paying for your best gear, while earning from what others pay for their items.
Specifically, your spent dkp is the sum of the most expensive pieces of loot for each gearslot. In the case of rings/trinkets your two highest count, and for weapons it's your most expensive mainhand and offhand. Note that two-handers are decomposed into mainhand and offhand components, meaning you can be paying for a shield and 2/3 of a two-hander. Hunters also pay only 50% on regular weapons, while paying 300% on ranged weapons.
Your earned dkp consists of the sum of what people have paid for items in recent raids. If for instance in your last raid you attended 90% of the time, while items worth 1000dkp were looted, you would likely earn 0.9/25 * 1000 = 36dkp that night. As items are replaced this dkp will however diminish, and eventually disappear; that way the gap between new and old raiders is easily surmountable, and a persons dkp is based on recent activity.
On progression nights where no bosses are killed (or where parts of the raid are spent progressing), the raid will be awarded "wipe dkp". This is a lump sum, determined by whoever inputs the raid, that lasts for one month from the killing date. It is treated the same way dkp earned from loot is, except that after one month it disappears. This is done to prevent inflation in the system. As long as you show up for raids the lost dkp should not be noticed very much.
4.3 Erroneous DKP
Problems should be posted in the DKP whine thread on the forum. Until this is done nothing will happen. If the issue is not handled within one week from the posting date, you may contact Bendo and whine. Any complaints before this time will be disregarded. People who don't use the tracker will generally be ignored if correcting the error would be in their favor. Yes, this is a not so subtle hint that you all should use the tracker.
4.4 - Offspec Loot
Loot that is deemed a sidegrade, downgrade, or irrelevant for all mainspecs, is eligible for offspec looting. This loot will be completely free. The looter is determined by random rolling between anyone who can use it and want it. There is no limitation on how much you can loot this way, but hoarding of multiple sets (enh, ele) is frowned upon, and it's at the officers' discretion to deny you if they think you have received more offspec loot than is fair.
4.5 Forcing
Loot may be forced on you if officers deem it an upgrade over current gear. Arguments around this should be kept to a minimum. In the event that you can prove that it is worse then that should be taken up after the raid, in which case the item will be removed from your loot table.
Officers
5.1 - Listen to what they tell you. Failure to do so will result in whatever the hell the officer can think up at that moment.
5.2 - If you have any problems with any other member of the guild, talk to an officer first, they should all be able to help you. If you have complaints about an officer please contact Bendo.
